ACA Compliance Group's 2018 Fall Compliance Conference was held from October 3rd through 5th at the Hyatt Regency Resort Resort at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. Over 300 compliance professionals came together for three days of educational sessions, engaging speakers, valuable networking opportunities, and fun social events in a beautiful setting.

ACA Academy kicked off Wednesday morning with What Color Is Your Brain? How to Communicate with People. During this two-part session presented by Personality Expert Sheila Glazov, attendees participated in a variety of engaging exercises to help identify their own brain "colors", as well as those of others. Glazov also shared tips on how to effectively communicate with each personality type in order to improve job performance, resolve conflicts quickly, build healthier relationships, and create harmonious relationships in attendees’ professional lives.

ACA Academy finished off the half-day program with Managing Workplace Culture and Change. Speakers discussed how to identify and understand your firm’s current culture, identify strengths, weaknesses, and changes to be made, as well as provide practical tips and approaches in implementing change successfully.

During the main conference, attendees participated in educational tracks focused on hot topics, news, and emerging trends in regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and technology. In addition to the sessions, attendees broke out into peer group discussions for hedge fund, private equity, real estate, and traditional fund managers. Wednesday concluded with a lively welcome reception in our exhibitor hall where vendors showcased their products and services over appetizers and drinks.

Thursday’s sessions began with a captivating keynote address from Jeff Lanza, retired FBI Special Agent and expert in cybercrime and identity theft prevention. Lanza shared insights from his 20 years of experience investigating cases related to corruption, fraud, organized crime, cybercrime, human trafficking, and terrorism.

Thursday continued with more sessions in each educational track. The most popular session was Private Equity Conflicts of Interest, which had over 200 participants. Attendees also enjoyed ACA’s third Women’s Networking Lunch and the festive Thursday evening reception, both sponsored by Sidley Austin, LLC. The reception featured a delicious quesadilla bar, drinks, live music, tile painting, and raffles for various prizes.

ACA’s 2018 Fall Compliance Conference was a great success, and we thank all of our clients, exhibitors, sponsors, and friends who attended. In particular, we would like to thank Sidley Austin, LLC for sponsoring our Thursday networking reception and the Women’s Networking Lunch.

We hope to see you in May at ACA's 2019 Spring Compliance and Performance Conference at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, Florida. Sign up for our mailing list to take advantage of early bird registration (January 2019).
